# RUNNER — Stage 1 credits

The gameplay, interface, original equipment, animation, bridge, fortress and live synthesized sound effects were created or adapted for RUNNER. This visual preview derives its commando sprites, enemy infantry, gun turrets and opening scenery from the approved RUNNER V6 Blender scene. Remaining scenery and unsupported player poses retain the lightweight Canvas artwork.

## Scenic art

`assets/forest.png` and `assets/cliff.png` were created with **OpenAI image generation** for RUNNER. They are generated scenic art with baked lighting. The game scales and crops these images during drawing; the bundled image bytes remain unchanged from their original RUNNER assets.

## Blender-derived characters and scenery

The transparent commando poses preserve the approved Blender materials and evaluated animation. World travel and source shot effects are removed; left-facing poses are rendered under the same world light. The web game controls movement, jumping, firing and bridge collapse. These are rendered sprite and scenery assets, not film playback.

Visible shoulders and arms derive from **[Body scan](https://www.artec3d.com/3d-models/body-scan), Artec 3D / Artec Group Inc.**, supplied under **[CC BY 3.0 Unported](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/)**. RUNNER crops and fits the scan, transfers skeletal weights, adapts its materials and combines it with the existing garments and rig. This web edition further renders the fitted model into transparent animation cells and packs those cells into atlases. No endorsement is implied. Heads: **Infinite, 3D Head Scan by Lee Perry-Smith / Infinite-Realities**, **CC BY 3.0**. Format conversion: Morgan McGuire and Guedis Cardenas; Unity adaptation: Keijiro Takahashi. RUNNER trims, fits, rigs and adapts the material, then renders the head into these character sprites. Other character foundations: MakeHuman Community system assets (Data Collection AB, Joel Palmius and Jonas Hauquier), **CC0**; `cortu_cargo_pants` by Cortu Johnstone, **CC0**; `toigo_ankle_boots_male` by Margaret Toigo / MRT, **CC0**; Aksel skin normal by Mindfront, **CC0**. The native tactical gear, bandannas, gloves and sci-fi carbines were authored or adapted for RUNNER.

Enemy infantry retain the source anatomical rig, sealed helmet, armor underlayer and original field carbine. This web edition fits copies of the existing folded cargo trousers, boots and tactical equipment to private enemy rigs, adapts their materials to olive and charcoal, and adds fitted helmet plates. Walking adapts the source commando's leg motion; planted aiming uses new private arm poses. Both facings are rendered independently under the approved scene lighting. Field and fortress turrets use the source's authored receiver and barrel geometry, rendered as transparent layers. These changes do not alter the preserved film master.

Scenery uses **[Poly Haven](https://polyhaven.com), CC0**: Rock Face 02 (Dario Barresi, Rico Cilliers), Rock Moss Set 01 (Kless Gyzen), Fern 02 and Jacaranda Tree (Rob Tuytel, Rico Cilliers), Lonely Road Afternoon Pure Sky (Dimitrios Savva, Jarod Guest), Forest Ground 05 (Charlotte Baglioni), Rock Wall 02 and Brown Mud Leaves 01 (Rob Tuytel), and Pachira Aquatica 01 (Rob Tuytel, Rico Cilliers). Native scene dressing, bridge geometry, water and lighting were authored for RUNNER. The backdrop and scenic cliff imagery include the project's OpenAI-generated artwork; they are not claimed to be photographic scans.

**[Palm TreeZ v3](https://opengameart.org/content/free-palm-treez-v3)** by **Yughues / Nobiax**, **CC0**. [Creator readme](provenance/characters/Palm_TreeZ_v3_Source_Readme.txt). The source models are adapted and rendered into the scenery plates.

The film and editable master are preserved separately. This web build does not include raw Blender files, scan source meshes, VDB caches, or cloud credentials.

Checkpoint pennants and bridge warning beacons use original procedural cloth, metal and lamp geometry and materials created for this web update. They were rendered under the approved scene lighting in a separate, disposable scene. No external assets were added for these props. Both bridge crossings reuse the approved native RUNNER deck and truss module.

## Music

**Fireline** is an original RUNNER orchestral cue. `assets/music.mp3` contains music only; gameplay supplies its own sound effects. The 63-second source was adapted into a 62-second loop with a one-second tail/head crossfade, without changing pitch or tempo.

Orchestral samples: **VSCO 2 Community Edition**, **Versilian Studios / Sam Gossner and Ivy Audio / Simon Dalzell**; sample cutting by **Elan Hickler / Soundemote**. The samples are supplied under **CC0 1.0 Universal**. [Official repository](https://github.com/sgossner/VSCO-2-CE) · [Publisher](https://versilian-studios.com/vsco-community/) · [Included sample license](provenance/music/VSCO_2_CE_LICENSE.txt).

The original RUNNER composition is distinct from the CC0 sample library. No Contra composition, arrangement, recording or cinematic sound-effect mix is included.
